A special grass roots universal event took place on Saturday, May 1, 2010.  The 2nd annual World Wide Labyrinth Day "Walk As One at 1:00" when people around the world walked a Labyrinth at 1:00 PM in 40 different time zones.  A wave of peaceful energy circling the globe.  Communities came together on one path with many people walking and sending joy and healing to help affect the negativity flow on the planet.

A day that brought us together in celebration of the Labyrinth as a symbol, a tool, a passion or even a practice.  Everyone was invited to participate in the event to help enhance the energy flow.  Some walked as one and others with a group.  Another way this was done is by using a finger labyrinth.  A diagram was available to download from the internet so that everyone could just follow the path.

The
www.labyrinthsociety,org , the founding strength for this event, was again this years co-coordinator Stephanie Blackton.  The Society has a list of where walks were held.  We hosted a World Wide Labyrinth day "Walk At 1:00 as one" at the Kripalu Yoga and Wellness Center in Adams Center, NY on May 1st and at The Mustard Seed Health Food Store in Watertown, NY  There was a short lecture on Labyrinths before the event.

Last year at least 103 walks were planned.  Several countries joined in the walk in Bermuda, S. Africa, England, Canada, USA, Hong Kong and China to mention a few.  One group laid out the Labyrinth and had a food drive.  The Labyrinth was placed with tape and as people came to walk they placed food items on the lines.  As part of the celebration everyone was invited to "Walk at 1:00 as One" to affect a rolling wave of labyrinth walking as the Earth turns. Labyrinths are thought to enhance right brain activity, and uses unclude problem solving, conflict resolution, walking meditation, modern day pilgrmage, and stress management.  According to the American Cancer Society labyrinths "may be helpful as a complementary method to decrease stress and create a state of relaxation."  Please contact the
www.labyrinthsociety.org and the www.kripaluyogaandwellnesscenter.org  with your event and after  stories.  We again this year KEPT THE WAVE ROLLING!

Thank you to all who came out and joined us to walk our seven-ciruit Labyrinth at Kripalu Yoga and Wellness Center and at The Mustard Seed Health Food Store in Watertown, NY.  where the public was invited to come and do a finger walk of the Labyrinth on Saturday, May 1 and share in the world rolling wave.
